A Question For Raury Mason, J.B Leitch

Dear Mr Mason,

J.B. Leitch may justly be regarded as the "default" debt collectors/law firm that E&M/ Peverel turn to in any dispute that has not been resolved. Such disputes range from challenging E&M who claimed to have carried out a ground rent valuation survey when they had not, to a dispute over different service demand notices showing wildly different amounts and the refusal of Peverel simply to tell the unfortunate leaseholder which demand was the correct one?

It would appear that in many cases if your client had taken the advice you gave at the Lease conference, many disputes would have been readily resolved.

This of course would have the consequence of reducing the fees charged by J.B Leitch.(not including those fee reductions ordered by the Upper Tribunal/LVT for which i believe are subject to a complaint to the SRA)

Probably not in this Parliament, you will be aware that legislation will be introduced to make accountants and solicitors liable if they give a veneer of respectability to dishonest companies, or if their actions serve to further the operating practices of a dishonest company.

Without making any assertions about the practices of J.B Leitch in any way, would the new legislation when enacted, have any effect on J.B. Leitch's relationship with Peverel and E&M?
