More Problems Over service Charges Ahead?
For a demand for service charges to be lawful, they must contain a summary of rights and crucially the name and address of the feeholder/landlord must be included.
Peverel are currently undertaking searches to find out who the freeholders actually are for particular developments(this follows the confusion caused by so many sudden changes)
When Peverel's researches are finally complete, leaseholders are advised to check that the current freeholder is the same as that named on service charge demands.
If the wrong freeholder is given with the demand, that demand becomes unlawful.
