Well That Went Well, Eric?

Residents at Brindley Court, Stockton, Cheshire  were concerned about high service charge costs and poor service provided by their managing agent, Firstport.                Having spoken to residents in similar developments who had caried out a Right to Manage action who had sacked Firstport and had saved money and got better service they decided "We will have some of that?"

So they got together and decided to begin the RTM process.

Naturally Firstport got wind of it and sent in Amy and Eric from Firstport to warn residents of the pitfulls of RTM.

"So many RTM's have gone wrong, residents can fall out with each other, it is not easy managing, it will be very expensive and some residents can be pressured into a RTM when they don't really want it?"

"Tell you what?" said Amy and Eric  "We will hold a meeting, answer any questions and we will even meet residents in their flats on an individual basis"

So the meeting went ahead (sadly missing Amy who cried off sick) and left the meeting to a clueless Eric who apparently made a right shambles of his presentation.

The majority of answers to questions posed by residents were sadly "I don't know, but Firstport have won a lot of awards"

Not surprisingly Brindley Court residents went ahead with ther RTM and now are yet another development freed from Firstport and now safely in the  care of Select Retirement.

Didn't Amy and Eric do well, though we are not sure Firstport will see it that way?

Thanks to them, that is another development that got away?
