Once again even as Nigel Howell Firstport CEO extolls his virtues and those of Firstport, even as they boast of re-opening a swimmimg pool (after nearly 6 years awaiting works!), even as they boast of their farcical "WOW!"awards, along comes Rip Off Britain to shatter any illusions the public may have over Firstport?
Featured in this expose was Pondsyde Court, Sleaford, East Sussex.
Apart from the all too typical complaints about overcharging, poor service and lack of communication, one resident compained off water leaking into her flat.
Carpets were ruined, puddles were visible in her flat, mold was encrusted into the property and running water was actually flowing through plug sockets.( One to mention Mr Howell at your next Health & Safety Awards dinner)
The resident had been complaining for years to Firstport to resolve the problem without success.
By sheer coincidence the matter was finally attended to after the involvement of Rip Off Britain.
Residents of Pondsyde Court now want to undertake a Right To Manage and break free of Firstport.
One resident claimed that Firstport gave the impression that they thought the residents being elderly would not fight back and had probably lost their "marbles"
Funny, that? On a previous BBC expose a director of the "owners" of Pondsyde Court described residents as "Dribbling Geriatrics" whilst Samantha Gibson a very senior member of Firstport management told development staff that if a resident asked any difficult question" it should not be answered" and that "if the reply was delayed long enough the resident would either die or get dementia?"
