Around 80-120 members and visitors attend indoor meetings featured in our programme and between 30-50 members and visitors come along to enjoy the summer walks programme. As a member you will receive the Spring and Autumn newsletters which report on Society activities and also feature articles about an aspect of Wollaton buildings and history. Please have a look at the Archive page and scroll down to see excerpts from recent newsletters.
In addition to the benefits for yourself, by joining the Society you are:
- Helping to support conservation of archive material such as historic documents, maps and drawings
- Conservation of the Dovecote Museum, artefacts therein.
- Supporting research projects, surveys, etc.
- Upholding the principles of the Conservation Area.
Indoor meetings are free to members, visitors fee £2.
Walks are free to everyone, but occasionally a small charge needs to be made to cover costs (eg when an entrance fee is applicable). All walks are local and led by an experienced, knowledgeable guide. Occasionally booking is necessary or restricted to members only due to a limitation on numbers.
