Phone Kiosk Saved For Posterity!

The Rambler is delighted to report that Cold Ashby’s K6 Telephone Kiosk has received a Grade II listing.

It has been given this protection because of its ‘iconic industrial design by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott’, its ‘strong group value with the Old Forge and its attached house’ and its setting within ‘the historic village of Cold Ashby and the scheduled remains of the monastic grange’.

As previously reported, our K6 had been scheduled for removal by BT until the Parish Council agreed to adopt it, having purchased it from BT for the princely sum of £1.

The Council intends to install a defibrillator in the kiosk once it has been officially adopted.
