The Cold Ashby Children’s Playground Project team have finally realised their funding target and work on the new playground is expected to begin in mid-October.
Everybody involved should be warmly congratulated on this outstanding achievement.
The people of Cold Ashby have a fine reputation for fund-raising and successful community action .
This extract from en email, received by the Rambler yesterday, says it all:
We would just like to say a HUGE thank you to all who have helped and supported the project in any way. The amount of money raised for a small village in 1 year is a tremendous achievement and we should all feel really proud to have contributed to that. We have also had lots of fun taking part in fundraising events, some of which we would hope to continue, like the Christmas Fayre.
The children's play area, pavilion and playing fields are a wonderful facility for our village and we recognise and appreciate the hard work and effort that has gone into fundraising by the village in the past to develop this. We hope that by revitalising the play area we will bring even more people in the community together to appreciate this great facility for all to enjoy, not just today but for future generations to come.
