VE Day Initiative in Cold Ashby

The Rambler and subscribers to our Village Communication Group received the following in an email from Rod Bailey, Parish Council Chairman:

The Parish Council was planning a village street party to commemorate the VE Day 75th anniversary on Friday 8th May, clearly this cannot go ahead. That doesn't mean that we should not commemorate that wonderful day in 1945 as there are still many veterans amongst us who we need to thank for their sacrifices.

There may be some Nationally inspired actions we can take but I suggest that we in the village may like to do something in addition to that by showing a Union Jack bunting or flag or plaque in front of our homes or in our windows on 8th May. We will be decorating the front of the Village Hall with Union Jack bunting.

We will do our best at this difficult time, Rod!
