Turbine Alert!

by Ashby Rambler - 11:01 on 06 February 2015

Just as we are bracing ourselves for the catastrophic environmental impact of the imminent construction of a six turbine wind power station to be erected between Cold Ashby and Winwick, we receive news of another application for a 250 ft turbine only one mile to the north of the village green.

Fortunately our Parish Council are on the case and are writing to the planners with their strong objections.

The council believes that this turbine, ‘half the height of Blackpool Tower’ would be visible 'from

at least half the village including the north side of Main Street, Stanford Road and even the church’.

The Rambler is sure the council’s case will be coherently and expertly argued on our behalf.

Nevertheless, individual parishioners need to make their own observations in support.

Details of the application and how to respond are available on Daventry District Council’s website (search using reference DA/2015/0019).

See the Parish Council’s News Page and Facebook Page for more details and comments.
