GET INVOLVED

The Tir Gofal Farmer's Association was started by a few people, who were initially indignant over the cuts in Tir Gofal payments. 

It was also thought that there should be a way of adding value to produce from Tir Gofal farms by selling it under a producer label.

There is also a realisation that if Tir Gofal is to have a future it needs to deliver benefit to wildlife in Wales.  To acheive this more effectively it needs several changes, most importantly to get prescriptions more closely matched to the wildlife of each individual farm.

The membership is growing and we have held one open meeting.  We hope to hold regional meetings in the autumn and winter.

Like all farmers, the initial people are very short of spare time! More people are needed to assist in the running of the organisation.  If you feel you can help please get in touch.

WELSH TRANSLATOR

We are in urgent need of someone with a good technical knowledge of the Welsh language.   Our present translator has insufficient time.   We need a volunteer to translate mainly from English to Welsh, but occasionally the other way.

NEWSLETTER ARTICLES

We are very keen to hear experiences from Member's farms to put in the next newsletter.   These could include problems fulfilling management terms, interesting or rare wildlife, tips to other members, anecdotes, photographs, contact details for skilled contractors or equipment.   Translations into or from Welsh would be helpful.   Please email or send contributions to Simon Spencer.
