Old Charterhouse III's 2 - 2 OH (Lost 4-2 on penalties)

Still livid about crashing out last week so a humorous match report is out of the question - instead here’s the bare essentials BBC style!

0-5 mins: Slow OH start (for a change), luckily Shuey’s on song early doors

5-25 mins: OH playing some terrific football, solid at back

28 mins: GOAL! Against the run of play OH are 1-0 down

30 mins: Kev & Keeno boil over, a Dyer/Bowyer style spat looks likely!

35 mins: Keeno carried off after skidding 20 yards to win a great tackle. Opponent's studs rake down Keen's back, Brodders suggests Harris put the boot in!!

46 mins: Keeno makes way for OH Hooligan Chris Chan. Substitution delayed as Chan removes concealed blade from shin pad

55 mins: Chan proving a menace, lunging at a header but pulled wide

55-90 mins: OH playing some of the best football of the season! Russ, Rico & W Reidy on fire and five yard passes galore. Solid at the back too, looking good all over.

66 mins: C Reidy, possessed by the spirit of Danny Shittu, steams in at the far post from a Brodders corner, tipped away. Football’s the winner.

70 mins: GOAL! Glenn, to Raz to Will, who’s scythed down. Dusts himself off, 1-1!

85 mins: Amazing move down right, Russ crosses to Will, deflected header grazes bar, unbelievably professional!

88 mins: C Reidy piledriver & Brodders 30 yard follow up blocked. OH cranking up the pressure!

90+2 mins: Reidy brothers steam in at far post, Will crashing header off the inside post. Ooooooohhhhhhh!

90+4 mins: Full time blows, Russ Jones takes off shirt and goes to swap it with right back. Right back: “what are you doing son, it’s extra time”. Jones: “oh”.

Extra time:

100: GOAL! OH 2-1 up! Mad run by Will, cut back to Rico, drills it far corner. Je m’appelle!

110 mins: Horrific challenge by Smudge; almost carried off himself a la Gazza ’91.

112 mins: Amazing move down right, falls to Raz, drilled low but decent stop.

116 mins: incredible Jones hack off the line

117 mins: Massive blank for home crowd as they invade to celebrate goal. Ball had in fact deflected off John Glenn onto roof of net. Sssshhhhh

118 mins: GOAL! and even bigger blank for OH players! Ball nodded home after scramble. Huge bundles. 2-2!

Penalties:

Heartbreak for OH as Charterhouse keeper turns on the style. Reidy brothers net and Shuey comes close to stopping one, but Rico denied by keeper and John Glenn pulls his wide. Accusations fly that Glenn had his eye on sixth form hockey girls warming up on adjacent pitch!

Man of the match:

Everyone had a blinder, Rico & Smudge kept it ticking over, Glenn was superb as were the rest of the back four. Russ Jones terrorised them down the right and played loads of wicked one two's with Harris and Rico, but probably the man of the match was Will "The Bear" Reidy; superb holding up of the ball and ran them ragged.
