The beautiful Ogwen Valley is home to many poets and writers who have inspired this project. 

Contact us to find out more about the activities we are planning that will bring writers and poets of all ages from the Ogwen Valley together with writers and poets from Jamaica to explore our shared history, as well as a shared love of poetry to share our feelings and creating writing to explore our stories. 

Tucked in the hills in the North of the Parish of Clarendon is a community called Pennants and there we have friends who are also keen writers and poets. This project brings us together to explore our shared history and build friendships. 

Jamaican poet, Yasus Afari, has been the inspiration and motivation behind this idea and make it a reality. Over the past 10 years, Yasus Afari has spent time in Wales to support Black History Month and other projects, working with schools and communities. 

Yasus Afari joined the final session when the participants shared their writing.
