The ultimate aim of this website is to reduce crime.
If criminals know they are being watched and reported they are less likely to commit crime. Beggars and drunks and those offend others will realise that they are being watched and are being reported to the authorities. This will curb their activities.
The plan is to do this with the faceless people of Neath. Those who agree to help without getting involved themselves.
We endorse the SELF EVIDENT App as developed by the Met.Police and include information about it on this website
Up to now criminals are aware that citizens do not want to be involved with the reporting of crime and take advantage of the fact.
The Neath Crime Watchers - the citizens of Neath, will create an awareness that hopefully other towns and cities will follow.
We support the police and want the police to support us by taking action as and when required. Working together can produce positive results and reduce crime.
We want to take advantage of modern technology in a way never done before.
The menu gives examples of what some police forces are already doing. Also included is a look towards the future.
We have provided a foundation for what we know will be effective for a better and safer society - now is the right time to move forward.
Another way of reporting crime anonymously is by reporting it to CRIMESTOPPERS - see our menu. It can therefore be said that the concept of reporting crime anonymousely has already been established.
