2nd GENERATION

Joseph Kitson - born 9th December 1803  -  died 13th March 1870

Joseph’s parents were living in the Southowram Parish in 1880 and must have moved to Norland sometime before Joseph was born in 1803 as the 1851 census has the family still living at Siddal Hall but Joseph being born in Norland not Southowram.                                                            

There is a lane called KITSON LANE in Norland and a farm along it, presumably John and Mary and son Joseph lived there and whether the lane was named after them is open to question.

Joseph and Elizabeth had ten children born and surviving between the years 1826 to 1845, six boys and four girls.

Isaac 1826 - 1881 -- John 1827 - 1894 -- George 1829 - 1905 -- William 1831 - 1846 -- Sarah 1833 - 1887

Mary 1835 - 1906 -- Joseph 1837 - 1879 -- Maria 1839 - 1876 -- Edward 1842 - 1878 -- Emma 1845 - 1905

All but William, Edward and Emma married and had family of their own.
