Narrative Drive

Novelist Sara Sheridan provides key hints and tips on how to keep your pages turning in our publishing event this year.

Sara is mostly an historical novelist, though from time to time she writes in different genres and media, including for children. She has created two series of historical novels – cosy crime noirs set in 1950s Brighton and a fiction series based on the real-life stories of late Georgian and early Victorian explorers and adventurers (1820–45). An occasional journalist and blogger, Sara appears on BBC Radio 4’s From Our Own Correspondent and blogs for the Guardian and the London Review of Books. Here she gives an industry insider's view of narrative drive and why it's so important to publication.

Come along for top tips about narrative drive - the art of getting readers to turn the page - vital to getting your book published. Sara will also give an insight into the world of publication, what manuscripts are chosen and why, and other insider information. If you're serious about publication or just intrigued as to how the industry works, this is the seminar for you!
