Surveys are carried out at very regular intervals to monitor all illnesses, diseases and other health issues and we would ask that you give us every assistance to ensure that we have as accurate an outcome as possible.

Of the key diseases that can affect a Basset Hound, most have some form of testing, risk prevention or research programme currently ongoing. The following are some conditions which occasionally occur in the Basset Hound:-
Malassezia Pachydermatis (a Fungal Skin Disease)
Gastric Dilatation/Volvulus (Bloat/Torsion)
Goniodysgenesis (Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma) & Other General Canine Eye Conditions
