From Feis Rois
23 February 2011

Don't miss these events with Feis Rois - keep live traditional music alive.

We have had a wonderful start to our 25th anniversary year with a very special concert at Celtic Connections on Saturday 22nd January. We were delighted to bring together 25 musicians who, between them, represented the 25 years of Fèis Rois. If you missed the concert, we will be doing it all again in the Highlands to close our anniversary year in Eden Court Theatre on Friday 11th November.

We are gearing up for our first ever Gaelic-medium Fèis this weekend. Fèis Rois nan Oileanach Gàidhlig is open to Gaelic-speaking university students and it takes place in Ullapool from 18 - 20 February with tutors Julie Fowlis, Mary Smith and Sandra Robertson. There is a ceilidh dance with Meantime in Ullapool Village Hall at 8pm on Saturday 19th February with tickets available on the door for £7.

We are currently taking online bookings for three residential Fèisean:

FEIS ROIS INBHICH
This year sees the 21st Adult Fèis event taking place in Ullapool from 30 April - 2 May. This event is open to adults aged 18 and over and everyone is welcome from complete beginners to advanced musicians, singers and dancers. ARE YOU 15 - 25?
We have a special weekend Fèis for young people from S3 up to the age of 25 in Cromarty on 2 and 3 April. Workshops in fiddle, guitar, Gaelic song, composition and song writing will be led by Gordon Gunn, Marc Clement and Maggie MacDonald. There is a concert in the Old Brewery in Cromarty at 7.30pm on Saturday 2nd April with Fèis Rois musicians supporting fantastic duo Gordon Gunn and Marc Clement. Tickets cost £8/5 and can be reserved in advance from the Fèis Rois office.
