THE AIRBORNE OPERATING TABLE

The following photos show the operating table which was designed for the Airborne Medical Sevices. Made by the "Tor Equipment Co. Ltd.", it was a heavy and difficult bit of kit to assemble, which often resulted in trapped fingers! In reality on operations the Airborne Medical Services often prefered to use the standard Airborne stretcher, mounted on a set of trestles, as a make-shift operating table.
