Kids back at school. A few hours  day to spare! Research the internet or pop long to your local library and find the perfect Christmas design for your cake. You don't have to be a master chef to make and decorate a Christmas cake. There are many simple but wonderful designs out there. I will add 2 recipes later. A traditional one and a last minute Delia Smith one. It is lovely and moist and my family prefer it to the traditional cake I used to make.

If you are in a baking mood now is also the time to make your Christmas pudding. I always make my own so I can adjust all the ingredients so I can add more or less of what I like. Also I can add port rather than brandy.
