The Woolly Lumpkin's Base

We are based in the most beautiful part of Scotland - the North West Highlands, in the County of Wester Ross. Click the map to have a look. 

We live on Dundonnell Estate which is owned by the Rice family. 

The estate is situated in Strath Beag at the foot of one of the areas iconic mountains, An Teallach. A stones throw from our house at the head of the Strath (wide glaciated valley) is Little Loch Broom - a sea loch/fiord which penetrates inland from the coast line like a long finger. Little Loch Broom opens out into Gruinard Bay, a large bay protected from the open sea of the Minch by a series of rugged islands known as the Summer Isles.

The WoollyLumpkins can look very dirty against the pure whiteness of fresh snow.                           

We have an avenue of large old lime trees along the public road in front of our cottage, I thought you might like to see the contrast of the avenue between the bareness of winter and the fresh new leaves breaking out in the early spring.
