We are pleased to announce that fifty per cent of all sales from our Autumn Exhibition will be pledged to the Kirkmichael Trust, a local charitable Trust formed to acquire, restore and maintain the historic scheduled Kirkmichael Church, a pleasant short walk from the exhibition.

The site of Kirkmichael consists of a partially ruined church dating to possibly the fifteenth or sixteenth century. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, as are many of the surrounding grave slabs, and comprises the foundations of a pre-Reformation church, a medieval chancel, an early nave/mausoleum and the associated graveyard. Kirkmichael has a wealth of varied grave markers to pique ones interest and is a rare example of a rural working burial ground, still used by the surrounding hamlets and villages today, with over five hundred years of continuous use.

A sales table for the Kirkmichael Trust will be on show throughout the exhibition, where plans to renovate the Church will be on view. We are also pleased to announce that Morte Photography will have on sale a selection of photographic mounted images and cards from both Kirkmichael and other burial grounds of importance throughout the Black Isle.
