Mission to Ecuador 2018
23 July to 5 August - VOICES from ECUADOR
Dear parishioners,
The time to start the Mission is about to begin... In these past few days since arriving in Ecuador I have witnessed the excitement of the people waiting to welcome and receive our missionaries from St Columba's and IHM.
The Co-ordination Team is meeting everyday and longer sometimes till midnight to check everything; the young people are very involved and they are coming up with a lot of good ideas and they are taking responsibilities such as contacting people to organize food, transport and some fun tours similar to the planned trip to Galapagos where we are going to see whales and will be able to snorkel in a wonderful island landscape... and so on.
The Parish community La Dolorosa, is organising a "prayer march" to pray to the Virgin Mary for our people and that everything will be good.
Bishop Lorenzo is waiting for the arrival of the missionaries too. The Auxiliary Bishop (being an Archdiocese we have 2), Mgr Eduardo is coming to celebrate masses on the 5th and the 12th August outside in the public square so more people can gather and meet the missionaries.
I have to be honest....even as I know how the people are here I didn´t expect everything to be so well organised and with so many opening up their hearts with joy.
