2013 was the leanest year yet. With the island water supply condemned by environmental health officers, the owner has decided to close the island and keep it to himself. We have been prohibited from landing at the pier, which has made visiting virtually impossible.

A survey of Black Guillemots was commissioned by SNH in the spring, to inform the process of designating the Clyde Sea Sill a Marine Protected Area. The count total was 349, which makes it a significant site, with nearly 2% of the estimated Scottish population.
