Repertoire

Classic Swing play an entertaining and melodic program of the great music of the Swing, & Jazz era, plus a selection of songs from the Great American Songbook.

Our repertoire includes several hundred titles, including music written by the best of the great American composers such as George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, etc.

We also play music made famous by the leading Jazz figures of the 20th century, including Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Benny Carter, etc.

Our vocalist sings an interesting selection of material from the Great American Songbook, and includes songs performed by the likes of Billie Holiday, Maxine Sullivan, etc, from up tempo swing numbers to tender ballads and an occasional bossa nova.

We also have a selection of original arrangements written specifically for the current lineup. 

A typical program would include elements from all of the above!
