Inverness Piano Recitals
In 2017, CMTS created another branch of their activities - Inverness Piano Recitals https://www.invernesspianorecitals.com - to promote piano recitals in the newly refurbished Inverness Town Hall. The excellent acoustic of the Hall provides a fine setting for the Bosendorfer 214 grand piano, which had been acquired 10 years previously.
They had noted that a series of recitals, called Perth Piano Sundays, took place in Perth Concert Hall. With the assistance of the series organiser, James Waters, they persuaded two of the Perth Series pianists, Peter Donohoe and Steven Osborne, to extend their tours and to play in Inverness the following day.
In support of the 2018/19 IPR series, a grant from the John Younger Trust was awarded and a guarantee against loss from Inverness Common Good Fund was negotiated.
