Princess Mary; April 1856 Craft Unknown A vessel, bottom upwards, nearly new, about 70 feet keel, has been seen floating between the islands of Muck, Rum, and Canna, during the last week. Towed to Tobermory. The vessel which was seen floating bottom up, between the Island of Muck, Rum and Canna, was towed into the harbour yesterday. She is apparently a new vessel of 150 to 200 tons, with a cargo on board, and has on her stem the word `P-----S MARY, Irvine', supposed PRINCESS MARY, of Irvine.

The Emma Heyn; 29/05/1856 Craft cargo Salt The EMMA HEYN, from Liverpool to Danzig [Gdansk, Poland], with salt, ashore at the Island of Muck, had been put aground there in a sinking state, having struck on a sunken rock off Canna, yesterday, when she unshipped her rudder, and seriously damaged her bottom: she is lying on a dangerous point. Sank Camus Mòr, Muck.
Unknown; March 1866 There has been picked up on the isle of Canna a piece of a vessel's nameboard, length 5 ft.2 in., painted black, with letters BRA cut in, and painted white. Also, on the isle of Huscar [Humla], off Canna, a piece of windlass chock, with the letter P stamped on the end of it: and on the same island about a dozen timbers of a large vessel, with planking attached, which had been wood sheathed, but there were no marks to lead to identification.

Harmony; 19/01/1866 Ship cargo Timber HARMONY, probably North American built, three masted, registered at Glasgow or Greenock, carrying pine, birch, and oak timber, and deals, shipped by Messrs. J Burstall & Co., of Quebec, reported to have not arrived after leaving Quebec for Penarth, Cardiff, on 17th November 1865. Large quantities of timber fragments ashore at Tallisker Bay (possibly from the GUY MANNERING). A nameboard with HARMONY in gilt letters was washed up on the shore of the Island of Barra. Part of the cargo and hull alleged to be on a rock in Vatersay Sound, and the remainder cast on the shores and adjacent islands.
