Team Results w/ending 21st May

On Monday 16th the Senior's played host to Clarkston in the Senior League and had a good 2-0 win claiming 4 points for the first time this season.

In the Airdrie & Coatbridge Leagues played on Tuesday there was a disappointing result for our Div 1 team who lost 2-4 at Clarkston (there was no extra point as the shots scored were tied). The Div 2 team had a good win in their game at Gartsherrie when they had a 5-2 victory over the home side.

In the Airdrie Ladies league the game played at Caldercraig resulted in a win for the home team by 3-2 over the visitors from Springwells.

The Bowls Scotland seniors were in action on Wednesday afternoon when their opponents were Burnhead, the victors over Caldercraig 1 last week. The game was played at Dunbeth and our boys lost out in an extra end. The game was played on a green that was marginally short of being a nightmare and every end was a lottery. Not sour grapes - it was dreadful.

On Thursday the Lanarkshire County Championships continued and first up were the Senior Fours. The venue was Gartsherrie and our opponents were from Whifflet. Our boys had a comfortable win and now go forward to the next game ar Garrowhill next week. Torrential rain in the late afternoon played havoc with local greens this evening but our Fours team played a shortened game against Airdrie at Glengowan, but unfoprtunately they were unable to gain a victory.

On Friday morning Jim Purves & Janie Kyle played in the BS Mixed Pairs competition at Caldercraig in almost perfect conditions. They overcame their Aidrie BC opponents and had a comfortable victory.

Jim rounded off a busy week in representative games by playing in the BS Singles Championship at Springwells where he had a narrow win over the 2015 Victoria champion. Also at Springwells our Triples team could not emulate Jim's success and they lost out to the triple from Calderbank. The bad fortune continued at Glengowan where our Pair lost in their game against Holytown. There was better news from Whifflet when we learned that our rink had been successful over a strong team from Orbiston.
