There was an excellent turn out of members for the opening day of the 2015 season. The green was opened for play by Chairperson Betty Keenan who welcomed two of our own members , Andy Kyle and Fraser Gillespie representing Bowls Scotland and Lanarkshire Bowling Association. The opening ceremony was followed by a very competitive game of bowls with the prize being stewardship of the Chairman's Trophy. All members of the club qualify to take part and history was made with our youngest and newest member, Graham Arbuckle, winning the competition. He was ably assisted by Jean Little and skip Brian Orr. The membership are wondering if Graham has been getting secret coaching during the off season by his father and former Champion Gordon, and it could well be the first of many trophies in what could be a fruitful and successful bowling career.
