To all Club Trustees, Volunteers and Members, may I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2024.
Following the AGM in October 2023 you may have seen a lot of activity within the club in regards to the Trustees Meetings with Carmarthen Council and other workmen within the club. I am delighted to inform you all, as I promised, when I took over the chairmanship of the club that I would pursue the Carmarthen Council to rectify the serious bad heating and the constant boiler breakdowns that the club constantly had. I am now very pleased to inform you that this has now been rectified by a brand new boiler and full maintenance on the two existing boilers and a tremendous amount of work done to control the air flow within the club. I can now inform you that the original air flow for the club was set to accommodate 800 people of which you can imagine was far too high for the building. Again this has been rectified and all three boilers and air flow within the club are now set to the correct levels and balances.
The club roof as you know had several leaks and these have also been rectified and now the scaffolding has been removed and new ceiling tiles replaced. As discussed at the AGM the council had 3 years in order to complete all the work, but with the constant dedication and perseverance of the trustees, we have now succeeded. The work that has been done is the short term plan and phase 1 of the long term plan for the club which we will continue to pursue.
May I assure you all as Chairman and on behalf of the Trustees we will continue to ensure that the club will continue to thrive for many years to come.
