Congratulations to Anwen Butten on winning joint first at Carmarthen Town Sports Awards.
Anwen is a member of Bro Myrddin Bowls Club. During her career she has represented Wales in the indoor and outdoor game at Junior and Senior International level. She has also won a number of Welsh titles.
From 2002 to 2022 she has represented Wales at six Commonwealth Games, which is an amazing record. Also, she has taken part in four World Championships, four Atlantic Rim Championships, the Hong Kong Pairs and Test Match 10 nation. She has won 3 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze medals in these tournaments.
Anwen was chosen as Team Wales Captain for the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. This obviously shows the respect she has earned, through her dedication to the game of bowls spanning three decades.
Congratulations Anwen. You deserve to be recognised for the time, effort and commitment that you have invested in bowls over the last 37 years.
