Champions of Champions event 2020
| Bro Myrddin to host Welsh Champion of Champions Event on January 18 and 19 2020 |
| Bro Myrddin Bowls Club's bid, in competition with 3 other clubs, to host the Champion of Champions Event has been accepted and attained. |
| Since 1999 the Welsh Champion of Champions had been sponsored by Warner Leisure Hotels and held at Warners Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel in North Wales. Because of the redevelopment of Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel by Warners which involved the indoor bowls stadium being demolished to make way for luxury log cabins they are no longer able to host the Championships. |
| The Welsh Indoor Bowls Association (WIBA) were determined that this prestigious Championship should continue and agreed to ask Clubs to bid to host the event along the lines of its predecessor the “ Welsh Brewers Champions All” tournament which was hosted by Merthyr Tydfil IBC from 1978 to 1996. |
| It is anticipated that the Championship will be held over a weekend, commencing on Saturday morning and concluding on Sunday evening. As the name suggests the Champion of Champions consists of all the Singles Champions from the 25 Affiliated Clubs plus the defending champion playing a straight knock out tournament consisting of 4 bowls over the best of 3 sets. |
