Over the past beautiful days there have been signs everywhere that spring is on it's way. Trees and shrubs are beginning to show their buds and the beautiful crocus and snowdrops are abundant throughout the village. Unfortunately the hundreds of snowdrops planted in Coronation Wood over the past few years have not been as prolific as usual. Perhaps the wet winter has taken it's toll.
There has also been slight damage in the wood with one tree being blown down and some other branches strewn around. Nothing too drastic and we are sure that a keen work party will get the place sorted out in plenty time for the sight of the primroses, bluebell and pink campion blooming. We can perhaps make a start on the proposed steps from the roadside to be built.
We wonder if we will be lucky enough to have owls in the owl box this year. Time will tell.
