Memories from Fred Mann
Glenfinart Nursery played a big part in the life of old Ardentinny. It was the reason why the Swedish Houses were build. In was the centre of life for near all the village. There is many of tales to be told about village life when the when the forest nursery was in its heyday. I am not sure when the nursery started I think it was about 1945 and as far as know closed about 1975. The nursery produced many millions of plants for planting all over Britain. During years the village was full of life and the village hall was the centre of social activities. The hall was very much like a gathering place for every big family and I hope it still is. That's enough of my blethering.
