Tue 1st Feb 1921
Woke up at 6.0 at Rutlam
Station where 2 Guides came
to see me.
Travel all day through
wild lovely country. See
wild black buck, jackels
& peacocks etc. All too
glorious, especially the
quaint crowds at the
stations.
Arrive at Delhi at
8.45. Guard of Honour
of Scouts. A.D.C. to the
Viceroy meets us & takes us
to our tents at Viceregal
Lodge. Really the tents are
like sumptuous rooms & so
comfy. Our bearer, Mahruretty
lent us by Mrs Miller at Bombay
is a perfect treasure & so
delicious & good.
