Track day at Mike B's
29 July 2012

The weather was not as kind as it could have been for our third July running day although there were a couple of gaps in the deluge which allowed us to run trains. Ian W's WD Hunslet looked as smart as Mike's hedges and lawn.

There was a narrow escape for one of the local molluscs which just managed to clear the rails as Tom's Peter Angus Garratt bore down on it.

Our newest recruit, Andrew, brought his military rolling stock to give his meths fired Mamod something to pull. Here we see the train about to descend the fearsome stretch of level on Mike's line.

Andrew looks like he will be a useul addition to the group, especially if his mum keeps sending cakes. This proved to be a perfect remedy for Fraser's anorexia.

Thanks go to Margaret for providing an excellent lunch and for letting us into the house to watch "The Zig Zag Railway" video while it was raining. Some members were braver than others when it came to the elements. Here we see Tom doing a Jack Hawkins impersonation as the heavens open.
