Slightly damp track day on the East Wood Light Railway
20 June 2011

We gathered in strength at Ian & Susan W's for our second June track day. The weather was up to its usual recent standard although it only rained a couple of times. The damp conditions meant that there was plenty of steam to photograph even if the auto settings on some cameras thought that it was dark enough to need flash in the early afternoon.

Ian McG's "The Duke" (Roundhouse Jack) hauls a freight through the new  Millstone Station. Ian W's coaches were much too nice to leave in the carriage sidings for long and were soon out on the circuit behind Dave W's Roundhouse Darjeeling B class, seen here waiting for the signal.

Next out on the line was Pat M's Shay seen here passing the new sidings.shay

Bob Y brought his fleet of many colours and also sported a very smart new bunnet - a wise precaution given the conditions. The loco in the foreground is Tom H's Roundhouse lady Ann with Fowler tender.

groupSusan produced a splendid lunch, thank you, and we even got round to sorting out the admin details for the Perth show. Now that was 2.30 p.m. on Friday wasn't it?
