Awards in organ-keyboard World

Should they be confined to players?

We are absolutely delighted that two players, both theatre organists, have been awarded honours from H.M.Queen.

Awards are for those who go beyond their normal call of duty in the the pleasure and service they provide.

The question arises about those behind the scenes, the organ society and keyboard club officials who help players, often putting them on the map.    Many of these officials organise charity shows and raise money for good causes.    More should be known about them and what they do.

Maybe players should be asked to nominate officials for an award - after all, they know who they are.   It is certainly time we highlighted those who help others in the organ-keyboard world
