Wick Paths Project held an EGM in the Breadalbane House Hotel on Friday 11th February to discuss their constitution and particularly to delete from line 3, clause 5 the words - 'by the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council' and add to the end of clause 5 - 'in addition to a representative who may be appointed from time to time by the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council'.

The reason for this change was due to the rule which stated that office bearers had to be members of the Community Council but all who currently held office had resigned in the past year, leaving that part of the constitution unworkable.  The new constitution allows for office bearers who are not members of the Commuity Council but there will be a representative from the Paths Project who will report back at monthly Community Council meetings.

The motion to change the constitution was formally proposed by Mr Laurel Bush and seconded by Mr David Oliver.

Councillor  Graeme Smith , Iain Banks and David Morrison all submitted their resignations.

David morrison propsed David Oliver as Chair, seconded by Garry Robertson.  The Treasurer's post remains unfilled at present but Iain Banks and David morrison remain signatories.

Secretary Jenny Bruce detailed the latest project being undertaken. The leaflet that was produced by the second years at Wick High School have been made into professional Thomas Telford guides. These in turn have been made into eight metal A1 panels that are to be sighted around Pulteneytown at various sites.  They detail the locations they are sighted at with photographs from the Johnston Collection and relevant narrative.  They are to be erected in conjunction with the 200 year anniversary of the completion of Thomas Telford's harbour.

There has also been a request made to the Paths Project to take over the running of the Caithness and Sutherland Walking Festival.  Various other groups have expressed a keen interest in hosting walks and it is planned for the 22nd - 29th May.  This will be publicised nearer the time.  The meeting agreed this would be a positive move.
