Our story

12 months ago, two guys were having a chat, via facebook messenger. The details of what were being discussed were speedway, and how it was missed in Weymouth. How young riders who want to learn to ride a speedway bike, would have to travel hundreds of miles just to get a bit of track time.

 It was then that James Tresadern and Martin Peters decided that they would see what they could find out about getting speedway back into the area.

 It took a few months of digging and searching, phone call after phone call, email after email, and they even resorted to snail mail to get answers!! But they somehow got hold of the man in charge, the current landlord of the old Wessex track next to Weymouth FC. After a meeting with the landlord, several visits to the old track to see what has been left and the damage, the guys decided they would go for it. They negotiated with the landlord and he said yes to the guys using the old track, only for a few years as there are houses planned on the site.

 There was an offer made to James and Martin, who by now had recruited Jennifer Griffiths as office and admin work and Jamie Dixon as Manager.The offer was a serious one and it would have brought speedway back to Weymouth, but that was pulled from us within 24hrs due to planning issues on the landlords side.

 This has not stopped us, and we are still looking and making enquiries to land. We are back on track and have expanded our team. Adrian has joined us helping with sponsors and commercial business, Julie and Robin are helping with supporters things and Malcolm is helping Adrian and is also our team photographer.
