After a hard fought game, Strathclyde were narrowly defeated 2-1 by a strong team from UHI. Grant Irvine scored Strathclyde's only goal of the day. The team travelled with several players missing (Donald Macdonald, Dan Hood) and with players carrying injuries, so to lose by a small margin was a great achievement by the team and they will be confident of gaining victory when they next meet UHI in the Littlejohn tournament in March.

The women's team, on the other hand were victorious, winning their game 2-0, with both goals coming from Eilidh Macdonald. The UHI team called in some favours and managed to get together enough players for a good competitive game. The weather held off long enough for the game to finish and Strathclyde strolled to a comfortable victory
