When and Where?
Training sessions for the Men's and Women's Teams take place every week at the University's outdoor training facilities at Stepps, currently running from 5 pm until 6.30 pm
The first session is free, so come along and give it a go. If Shinty seems like the game for you, all that is required is an annual membership of the Sports Union - a mere £25 to join all 44 clubs in the Sports Union.
As training is on an astroturf pitch, astroturf boots are recommended, however trainers are fine. Shinguards are also recommended. Sticks and balls are provided, although if you have a stick please bring it along. Helmets are encouraged, please bring them along if you have one.
The University outdoor facilities are located at Stepps (see directions below). Meet outside the Union at 4.30 pm on a Tueday to take the number 36 bus

Take the M8 towards Edinburgh . Leave at junction 12 (have to check the signing now that the Stepps Bypass is open). At the traffic lights at the top of the slip road veer left. Carry straight on through the next set of lights (about 50 metres) and follow the road round the outside of Hogganfield Loch. On passing St. Aloysius College playing fields on your left, move into the outside lane to allow a right turn at the traffic lights (Avenue End Road). The entrance to the playing fields is approx 100 metres down on the left
Travelling towards Glasgow on the M8 leave at junction 11 signposted for Stepps and Queenslie. At the top of the slip road turn right up Stepps Road. Continue up this road for about 1 mile. The entrance to the playing fields is on your right immediately after the electricity sub station, approximately 100 metres before the traffic lights on the A80 Glasgow - Stepps road.
Travelling on the A80, approach the roundabout for the Stepps Bypass just after the Crowwood Hotel on your right. At the roundabout go straight ahead for local traffic to Stepps. Continue on through 2 sets of traffic lights. You will pass the playing fields on your left. At the next set of traffic lights turn left down Avenue End Road and the entrance to the playing fields is approximately 100 metres down on the left.
