........................................................................................... Update 24.3.11......................................................................
Hi All
First I'd like to welcome supporters who joined us over the weekend.
Namely those from Wharf Cottages and Longmead Close. Sorry the flyer was so dramatic, but we had to make you aware of the traffic implications of this planning application. If approved this
development will have a major and detrimental effect on Runnington, Langford Budville, Tonedale and Wellington.
Those of you who monitor the planning web site will have noticed that Natural England suddenly woke up to the impact the development would
have on the local wildlife. They withdrew their original objection
and substituted an new one opposing the application. We asked Michael Bristow and Rob Turner to copy their excellent letters to NE with a view to providing them with ammunition. Those of you who still have not written in objecting might want to read Michael's and Rob's letters for inspiration.
Michael also wrote to the Council for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) asking for their support.
Time is now running out for the consultation period, so I urge you to
put pen to paper and write in objecting to this monstrous proposal.
Read all the letters that have already been posted to get an idea of
what we are objecting to.
On a final note I would like to announce that I will be standing as a
candidate for Langford Budville and Runnington Parish Council.
Felicity Houghton, who has done a magnificent job for the last few
years, has decided to stand down. I am therefor offering myself as
the new councillor.
Yours

Tone action group- update 15.3.11
Hi All Last night's Wellington Town Council Planning Meeting was a great
success. The councillors voted unanimously to oppose the application, and, in response to a suggestion by Ian Loudon, gave a list of valid planning objections. Members of the public were able to express their views, and we had a lot of support from residents of Tonedale and north Wellington. Those of you who delivered flyers in those areas can congratulate yourselves!
I have expressed my thanks to Mayor Govier and the councillors. All of us "public" commented on how well the meeting was conducted (for many it was the first time they had attended one) and that we were all given the chance to speak.
I would also like to thank Anthony Pick, the application case
officer, for attending the meeting and providing some clarification.
This means we have the support of Langford Budville Parish Council, Milverton Parish Council, and now Wellington Town Council.
If you visit the application web site today you will see that the
Environment Agency and Natural England have voiced opposition to the plans. We don't know the implications yet, but it is likely to lead to further delays in processing the application.
The consultation clock is ticking away and we all need to get our
protest letters in (I take it that there isn't anybody in favour?).
The feedback I am getting from councillors and planners is that they want to see your objections. Councillor Jackie Govier said last night that she had never seen so many objections to a planning application.
Please write in as soon as possible. It doesn't have to be a novel -
a few lines will suffice.
Yours
Kieron - Tone Action Group
