Browsing (ie just looking at the pictures) through the local paper, I noticed the same face popping up regularly. I know that face from somewhere I thought. Then it clicked - it pops up every week and the South Lanarkshire Council's own paper is full of it. Turns out this chubby face perched on an obese body belongs to one of the Cooncil heidies. Judging by the photographs, he's Heidie of Handing Out Joub Joubs and Gewgaws to the Weans of South Lanarkshire.

Now my mind turns to the cuts our council must make, the state of SLC's roads after the latest spell of Arctic weather, and the health of sedentary councillors. So here's the plan.

Let the top man do all the really important public appearances (Big Russell's good at it anyway)

Instead of photoshoots, these weel kent faces can get out and help mend the potholes throughout the county.

To maintain their high public profile, publicise the location of the work and I'll take the photies for free

Obesity and cardiovascular ill-health in the county will reduce dramatically.
