So a worker has been publically executed by firing squad in Hamhung, North Korea.

His crime? Illegally phoning his buddy in South Korea on an prohibited Chinese network and telling him what?

State secrets?
The Korean Government Heidie is not exausted but has a 'chemical dependancy'?
The next day's Lottery numbers?

No. Mr Chong chose to update his chum with the current price of rice and housing conditions in the country.
Of course this is an outrage by anyone's civilised standards and must represent the most harsh regime on the planet. This draws me to the other end of the scale - 'the saftest o' the faimily'. Aye, you're right, good old UK.
Our news is full of the dregs of our society being given laughable 'punishment'. Imprisonment with conditions far in excess of those experienced by the country's upstanding, tax paying pensioners. Piddling fines they will never pay. Community service - please, give me a break! These people cannot be linked with either of those words.
Of course good people go off the rails, take their medicine and get on with their lives, but unfortunately they are the minority.
Is there a lesson from North Korea? Death for passing on the cost of rice? I don't think so!
But riding a bike on the footpath without lights at night. Mmm..........
