The Coasters Scooter club was formed in 1961 and was the name of "The Felixstowe and District Scooter Club"...Originally riding out of Felixstowe it flourished and became one of the largest Scooter clubs in East Anglia in the 60's..
In the Late 60's and early 70's many of it's newer members took up scooter grasstrack and Road racing..
In the late 70's Quadrophenia gave birth to a new wave of Scooterists and the ranks swelled again..The club continued through the mid and late 80's when numbers dropped off and the Scooter scene in this area grew quiet and the club disbanded..
A few years ago former members took off the dust sheets , rebuilt and reformed ...Rebranding as "The Coasters" it's scooter riding members number 45 plus and it continue's to attract new members from all areas of Suffolk and Essex..
Meetings on every Wednesday night in Ipswich start at the Steamboat pub on the Quay off The Wherstead road with scooters turning up from 7'ish and planned rideouts to other Pubs happening regularly with Scooters of all sizes and no one gets left behind .... All types of scooters , all welcome ...
