Glasgow Rangers

Glasgow Rangers football team can be found in Glasgow located on the south side of the River clyde, on Edmiston Drive in the Ibrox district of Glasgow.

Rangers also have won 52 domestic trophy which is a world  record for domestic trophies, 25 league cups and the Scottish cup 33 times and have won the cup winner cup in 1972.

Rangers are fiece rivals with their Glasgow rivals Celtic. The rivalry is so great only  players 5 post wars player have moved from one side to the other. The rivalry has also had many assaults and deaths. Rangers have also played nearly 400 matches to date.

 

Rangers also have a rivalry with Aberdeen this rivalry began in the 1970's when Aberdeen had a bit of success and these two teams where battling for the championship. The rivalry got worse when Aberdeen's player Neil Simpson tackled Ian Durrant which in the latter stages he was injured for 2 years. The Rangers programme also stated that the Aberdeen fans where scum and club captain Richard Gough at the time said Aberdeen only played well against Rangers this increased futher rivalry between the two teams.

Rangers play at Ibrox stadium with a capacity of over 50,000 seats in it and the first appeared in this stadium in 1902. Ibrox stadium was awarded a 5 star status which is now absolete. There have been two major disasters at Ibrox one that occured in 1902 which was during a Scotland vs England match which resulted in 26 death and the most famous one the Ibrox disaster which resulted 66 deaths and over 200 injured. The Ibrox disaster was during the new years day old firm match and the celtic player Jimmy Johnston scored a goal then the Rangers fans left apparently left the stadium when and when Colin Stein scored minutes after apparently the Rangers fans rushed back into the stadium.

Rangers most successful manager was Bill Stuth he won 14 championship before the second world war.

Rangers have also won 9 in a row which was winning the league 9 times in a row which is equal to Celtics but the Celtic wasnt even recorded because it was in the post wars years.
