Church Notices 24 August

Welcome to any visitors who are worshipping with us. Please join us for coffee and tea after the service.

This afternoon you are invited to have cakes in the Garden of Douglas and Christine Macintyre’s home, Glencairn, Old Glen Road. They are open to all from 2 p.m. until dusk and any donations will be given to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Stewardship gathering to which all are invited will be on Thursday 28th August at 6.30 p.m.

On Saturday 30th August we will hold a church open day to invite the community to come and see what we are doing and enjoy a cup of tea with us - ideally in the garden. There is a sign up sheet at the back of the church for helpers and for offers of baking for this event. Please don’t just walk past it!

On the evening of Sunday 31st August the presbytery will hold a Commonwealth Songs of praise service in Cromdale Church at 6.30 p.m.

Messy Church will also meet on Sunday 31 August at at 4 p.m.

Tomorrow evening, 25th August, there will be a lorry in the church car park with a shack on it. This has been given permission to park there, and is the property of a Welsh charity which supports people living in poverty in Sierra Leone. The shack is accompanying a brave individual who is running from John O'Groats to Lands end in daily marathons, and sleeping in the shack at night. If you see the shack and the runner or his small support team, they will be happy to tell you more about the work they are supporting.

On Sunday 7th September we will celebrate the sacrament of Communion at our morning service. A retiring offering for the work of the Alzheimer Scotland will be taken.
