This has been a momentous week in the history of the nation, with the death of our Queen and the succession to the throne of King Charles 3rd. The Church of Scotland website www.churchofscotland.org has various prayers and thoughts which may be of comfort. There are also details of the service to be held at St. Giles at 3pm on Monday 12th and will be broadcast live.

 

We have had a message from Pastor Mirek from our twin church in Libis

Dear Friends in Laggan and Newtonmore,
On behalf of congregation Libiš I express sincere condolences on the passing of Queen Elisabeth.
During my time in Scotland, I gained a lot of respect for her.
On my visit to Crathie Kirk, near Balmoral Castle, I learned how close she was to the people in the Scottish countryside.
Minister Kenneth MacKenzie told me that she asked about the various inhabitants of the village after the service. The people in the neighborhood liked her.
She will be missed by Scotland, the whole of Britain, and the world.
