Who looks after our Church

Priests conduct the Services; they generally come from elsewhere, sometimes "come and go".

But the people who look after "our" Church usually live close it.

The "Church Wardens" and the members of the Parochial Church Council [the P.C.C.] are elected by those who have put their names forward and been accepted to be on the Church's Electoral Roll.

Our present Churchwardens are
Chris and Sue Jay
O1258 86O 153
O7884 256 447 (Sue)
or email

But there are many different groups of volunteers who look after our Church :-

Bell-ringers
Servers
Sidesmen
Lesson readers
"Sundat School" - now here called "Trail-blazers"
Post-Service coffee makers
Flower-arrangers
Cleaners
Minute- taking at P.C.C. meetings
Grass cutting & other "garden work"
Key holders
Clock winders
Flag raisers

not to mention all those who do "unseen" things such as preparing rotos, buying tea / coffee / milk / sugar / biscuits (often without charging), washing up, putting away, etc., etc., etc..

If you would like to help with any of these things, please tell us.

Help wanted

St Andrew's Church
needs a few more volunteers
to help keep the Churchyard
looking tidy.

The church owns
a good lawnmower and strimmer
to do the job,

so if you have an hour or two to spare, even if it's just occasionally,

please contact us
or call O1258 86O 153

for further details.

Thank you
