CATERING FOR SUGAR-FREE DIETS
If a customer or guest asks for sugar-free meals, as with all medical or health-based special diets, it is best to ask for more information.
1) Diabetic diets
Please note that there are differences between those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and also between diabetics in general as to how they manage their condition (eg how much insulin they take). So while some avoid all sugar - and may also avoid fruit - others limit their intake. Diabetics have to regulate their total intake of carbohydrates, not only sugars.

2) Sugar-free diets
Some people who are not diabetic but are health-conscious may choose to follow a "sugar-free diet" meaning one free of cane or beet sugar (refined or otherwise). Some sugar-free dessert ideas will be found in the recipes section of this web site.
